Imaging Services Clerical Associate Full Time, 80 Hours per pay period, Day Shift Morristown Hamblen Overview: Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System has 167 licensed beds and 23 emergency suites. The hospital offers outstanding ancillary services including Laboratory, Radiology and Therapy services. At our Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, women can have their annual mammograms, biopsies, and can meet with a nurse navigator if needed. The Women's Center offers six newly remodeled labor and delivery suites and has a secure nursery for the care of our newborns . Position Summary: Provides clerical support to Imaging Services department. Responsible for routing communication and file/record maintenance.
. Routes all communication for Imaging Services via telephone/fax for internal and external customers. Distributes medical imaging reports and special request medical imaging data/medium for immediate interpretation via telephone, fax or computer. Assist physicians with PACS. Successfully resolves customer dissatisfaction by using appropriate customer service skills. Logs incoming/outgoing media and retrieves media from other departments on a daily basis; contacts physicians/facilities to return overdue media. Scans prior exams into PACS and/or pulls jackets for prior studies for radiologists. Matches PACS folder with STAR to ensure correct patient information. Makes copies of imaging data/medium for physicians, attorneys and patients as requested. Assists patient needs for CD or film request. Provide patient with information of where to pick up and what to expect when they arrive. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education: None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a HS diploma or GED.
