Job Summary: The Imaging Navigator tracks actionable radiologic findings by utilizing software and electronic medical records (EMR) to ensure findings are communicated. They are responsible for guiding patients through the health care continuum by eliminating operational barriers. They will also work closely with other health care providers to ensure appointments, results reports, financial need referrals, patient care and follow ups are timely.
Essential Functions: Manages the daily operations and workflows of the Computed Tomography Scan Lung Screening Program Work in conjunction with the CT Lung Screening working group, Steering Committee, physician, and administrative leadership. Acts as a patient liaison for the program and performing all patient liaison activities. Works with referring physician offices and clinics to manage follow up testing. Manages all aspects of the CT lung database including data entry, statistical reporting, and enhancement. Performs Patient Navigator duties to other imaging patients as needed.
Education: High School Diploma or GED (required) Associates Degree (preferred)
Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required) Required to possess one of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) Registered Nurse (RN) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Medical assistants (MA) Experience: 3 years progressive experience in a healthcare environment (required) Oncology or Diagnostic imaging experience (preferred) EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (preferred) Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) experience (preferred) Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of radiological exams, medical terminology, and interdepartmental communication regarding continuation of patient care. Possesses excellent communication skills with patients and providers, attention to detail and ability to provide relatable explanations of procedures and process to ensure patient comfort.
