Plan work assignments and equipment allocations to meet transportation, operations and production goals. Direct delivery drivers in transportation services, such as moving, storing, and delivering quality product to customers. Confer with supervisors, customers, contractors and other personnel to exchange information to solve problems regarding freight flow. Monitor field work to ensure proper performance and use of vehicles and material Plan and establish transportation routes. Ensure all DOT and company regulations are adhered to by the workforce. Conduct safety training Responsible for the day-to-day supervision, and scheduling, of Drivers, ensuring that customer needs are met,
and internal measurements are held to the highest standards.
Qualifications include
Working knowledge and experience in a logistics role in applying principles and methods of moving goods by road, including the relative costs and benefits. Experience in motivating, developing and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job. Knowledge and experience with Department of Transportation (DOT) laws and regulations and ensuring the workforce is in compliant with such laws. Strong understanding of interstates and highway systems in the Western States' regions and potential obstacles that could delay, damage, or impede timely delivery. Advanced technical, computer, and Google Workspace, Microsoft Office software, MapPoint experience, and other relevant logistic systems: strong verbal communication/listening, reporting, and database skills. High school diploma or equivalent is required; bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred Previous supervisory experience, preferably within a warehouse/logistics environment.
