Job Title : Humanities Teacher - Part-Time Position
Salary: $23-$27 per hour (based on experience and certification)
Schedule : Monday through Friday, 9:30am-2:30pm
Job Description: Embark Behavioral Health Bend is seeking a dynamic part-time Humanities teacher to join our team. As a Humanities teacher, you will provide in-person instruction, executive functioning support, and treatment-supportive academic interventions to preteen and adolescent youth (grades 5-8). This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about education and mental/behavioral health to make a meaningful impact in a non-traditional learning environment.
About Us: Embark Behavioral Health Bend, located in Bend, Oregon, offers residential treatment for teens ages 10-14 struggling with behavioral health issues. Our comfortable family-style residence promotes community and interpersonal relationships, providing a supportive environment for growth and healing. Develop and implement a 15-week in-person Humanities and Executive Functioning curriculum for grades 5-8. Observe, evaluate, and provide feedback on students' academic performance, behavior, social development, and physical health to the treatment team and caregivers. Track, evaluate, and document student academic progress to ensure individualized care. Design, administer, and assess various assessments including tests, quizzes, assignments, and projects. Collaborate with Mt. Point Academy (online) to integrate curriculum seamlessly. Provide support to students with disabilities, utilizing assistive devices, supportive technology, and accommodations as needed. Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs and interests of students. Foster a structured and engaging learning environment in alignment with our treatment model. Cultivate positive relationships with students, parents, coworkers, and supervisors. Stay current with required trainings and professional development opportunities. Bachelor's degree in Education, Humanities, or a related field. Oregon teaching license preferred, though not required. Proficiency in the assigned subject matter and effective teaching methodologies. Demonstrated ability to teach executive functioning skills to youth. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with youth exhibiting diverse abilities, learning styles, and emotional or behavioral challenges. Capacity to establish rapport and maintain appropriate boundaries with youth. Strong computer skills, along with excellent organizational and communication abilities. Proven aptitude for collaboration and teamwork. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse learning, behavioral, and emotional needs of students. Free lunches prepared by our talented chefs!
