Responsibilities
• Collaboratively plan a rigorous, differentiated, engaging, and culturally responsive curriculum• Implement Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) in integrated co-teaching (ICT) and/or special education teacher support services (SETSS) settings• Utilize data from formative assessments to adjust instruction• Provide additional remediation and acceleration based on formative assessments• Ensure well-utilized classroom time through sound classroom management practices• Develop and manage individualized behavioral intervention plans• Participate in opportunities to strengthen pedagogical skills and contribute to the learning of colleagues• Serve as the advisor to a group of students• Fulfill administrative duties and maintain proactive communication• Build strong relationships with families through consistent communication
Requirements
• At least two years of formal teaching experience in New York• Proven track record in accelerating student growth and mastery• Capacity to plan rigorous, engaging, and culturally responsive curricula aligned to Common Core standards• Balance of high expectations and high support, growth mindset, and joy in working with adolescents• Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills• Openness to constructive feedback and commitment to continuous improvement• Strong work ethic, organization, flexibility, and orientation toward solutions• Expertise in working with diverse populations and differentiating instruction• Strong written and oral communication skills• Experience working collaboratively in team settings• Mature, humble, versatile, and with a sense of humor• Master's Degree and certified as a teacher in New York
