Primary Objective & Scope of Position: The HR Specialist will partner with HR Total Rewards Manager and Community Engagement Manager to provide support to each area. This position will work closely with those leaders to assist in a variety of areas including payroll and employee benefits, as well organizing and executing community engagement strategies, projects and events, among other responsibilities. This position plays a critical role in the overall employee experience and is a key member of the HR Team.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities: Total Rewards: Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain employee benefits and payroll data, processes and documentation in accordance with federal and state laws, and company policies. Create, produce and distribute routine payroll reports from HRIS. Respond to employee benefit and payroll inquiries, as well as related policies. Community Engagement: Partner with our Community Engagement Manager to organize and execute community engagement strategies, projects, and events. Assist with reviewing donation requests for the 40 Winks Foundation, Slumberland's non-profit foundation. Build, manage and execute Slumberland's volunteer event calendar. Knowledge & Education Requirements: 4 year degree with 1-3 years of experience; experience can be substituted for degree Working knowledge of State and Federal Laws and Regulations Strong computer skills and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office software Experience with HRIS systems (Experience with ADP software and its reporting tools beneficial.) Ability to interact with varying levels of employees Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills Proven critical thinking and decision making ability Human Resources Capacity.
