Human Resources Analyst A Location Hammond, LA : Southeastern Louisiana University's Department of Human Resources invites applications for two positions of Human Resources Analyst A. These positions are located in the Benefits Section of the Human Resources Office and will assist employees with enrollment in benefits including but not limited to Medical, Retirement, Life, and Supplemental benefits such as dental and vision. The Benefits Section educates and counsels new and current employees on benefits and life events, handles employee and dependent fee waivers, retirement system reporting, New Employee Orientation, Benefit Fairs, FMLA, Workers Compensation and Leave of Absence. Minimum Hourly Rate: $16.06 Applicants who are within 90 days of obtaining their baccalaureate degree may apply prior to receipt of the degree. However, the effective date of the appointment cannot be prior to the graduation date. AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES Communicating Effectively: The ability to relay information correctly and appropriately to connect people and ideas. Making Accurate Judgments: The ability to form an opinion objectively and decisively based on relevant information and in accordance with established standards. Thinking Critically: The ability to objectively question, analyze, interpret, and evaluate information to form a conclusion. EXAMS AND LICENSE REQUIRMENTS No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and be able to be certified through the Southeastern Defensive Driving Course MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A baccalaureate degree SUBSTITUTIONS Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree. Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree as follows: A maximum of 120 semester hours may be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree. 30 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree. 60 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for two years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree. 90 to 119 semester hours credit will substitute for three years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree. 120 or more semester hours credit will substitute for four years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree. College credit earned without obtaining a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for a maximum of four years full-time work experience towards the baccalaureate degree. Candidates with 120 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree, must also have at least two years of full-time work experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree. Failure to provide your qualifying work experience will result in your application not being considered Any qualifying experience that is based on college credit/hours will require a transcript for verification Any college hours or degree must be from a school accredited by one of the following regional accrediting bodies: the Middle States Commission on Higher Education; the New England Association of Schools and Colleges; the Higher Learning Commission; the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities; the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools; and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
