Apply online or contact us to hear why our employees appreciate being part of the Knauf family! POSITION SUMMARY : Provide guidance and assistance to all departments on HSE related matters. Work with HSE Manager to ensure all HSE programs are followed with goals and objectives met appropriately.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Ensure compliance with Plant, KINA, OSHA, State, and Federal regulatory HSE requirements. Ensure compliance of contractors working in Plant #2. Identify potential and actual areas of improvement and assist in setting and formulating goals and tools for their achievement. Deliver and promote new and existing HSE training and campaigns provided by HSE and Plant Manager. Monitor the quality of data entered on Near Miss Reports, Safety Observation, and Unsafe Acts Report. To assist in and conduct investigations on HSE and follow up on remedial actions. Assist in the evaluation of internal and external reports concerning safety, for emerging trends and lessons learned. Promote the use of management systems and ensure relevant requirements are implemented. To prepare and conduct internal and external presentations to promote company policies. To assist in the conduct of formal risk assessments and analysis. Perform audits to measure the safety culture in Knauf Plant #2. Provide HSE guidance and HSE coaching to the employees of Knauf Plant #2 to ensure compliance with systems and culture. Coordinate the Safety Committee Document control. Record Keeping Maintenance of the HSE Cases Carry out and follow up on workplace assessments on board. Continue to learn your new profession by completing one course in a HSE related topic every quarter. Ensure that the HSE Manager is briefed on all Safety and Environmental issues prior to reporting them to any other department. (Especially the plant manager) Manage Safety Heat Map Set personal beliefs aside and publicly support all HSE goals, objectives, and initiatives set forth by the plant and the corporate office.   HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: Follow established safety procedures and precautions, to include fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, etc. Follow established ergonomics procedures governing lifting techniques, repetitive tasks, and the use of safety equipment and supplies to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses. Participate in appropriate safety training programs prior to performing tasks that involve potential exposure to hazards related to the workplace. Follow established procedures governing the use/disposal of personal protective equipment and supplies. Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor no matter how minor they may be. (NOTE : Such occurrences must be reported on the shift in which they occur.) Ensure good housekeeping practices are performe d within your department. Maintain a tobacco free work environment. Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience 
Experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications: Possess or obtain an OSHA 30hr certification. Must obtain and maintain current OSHA Certified Industrial Truck Operator License.

Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this plant which include a post-offer drug screen and physical examination.
