What You Will Do This position will be filled at either the Program Specialist 2/3 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level. Program Specialist 2 $69,500 - $110,300


As a Leadership Programs Specialist, you will support the development of leadership and organizational development programs for one of the most innovative and creative multidisciplinary research institutions engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. The Program Specialist 2will partner with internal clients, in alignment with the Human Resources strategy, to offer support and project management of leadership development and talent and performance management projects in an engaging and effective manner.



Program Specialist 3 $83,900- $136,600


In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level may include project design, development, delivery and management; partnering with other organizational and leadership development professionals to consult with and advise senior leaders and other managers; building and managing customer relationships; planning, executing, tracking and communicating defined goals, projects and/or programs.



What You Need Minimum Job Requirements:


Trusted Advisor

Demonstrated ability to understand organizational issues that may impact businesses and their intuitional initiatives.
Transformation Management

Demonstrated experience conducting research, performing analysis, sharing findings with colleagues, and preparing materials in support of the assignment or project.
Project Management

Experience in managing projects, expectations, and timelines.
Program Stewardship and Management

Experience scheduling, communicating, preparing materials, and facilitating programs. Experience working directly with employees, helping to troubleshoot problems with performance management functions or operations and generating reports from data systems.
Collaborative Engagement and Facilitation

Experience attending meetings, briefings, presentations, or facilitated discussions to provide thought partnership, logistical support, secondary facilitation, or scribing/data collection. Additional Job Requirements for Program Specialist 3:


In addition to the requirements outlined above, qualification at the higher level requ i res:

Knowledge of legal requirements affecting leadership and organizational development programs and government regulations affecting related program administration. Experience managing and supporting up to 4-5 projects simultaneously. Education/Experience at lower level : Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.



Education/Experience at higher level : Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum 8 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level, post graduate course work may be desirable.



Desired Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of laboratory organizational structure. Work Environment: Work Location: The work location for this position is hybrid and is located in Los Alamos, NM. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.



Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 Year.

No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.



New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.



Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.



Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the required period of continuous service, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader.
