Hr Generalist

Job summary
The HR Generalist is responsible for onboarding new hires and maintaining employee files.They will also assist with personnel inquiries and HR procedures.DOT compliance and managing workman's comp claims are also part of the role.

Responsibilities
• Review applications/resumes and evaluate applicant skills• Onboard new hires from start to finish• Maintain employee files in accordance with regulations• Enter new hire and termination information into the computer• Advise managers, supervisors, and employees on HR policies• Assist departments with personnel inquiries and HR procedures• Perform office support work including composing correspondence and data entry• Maintain accurate records and files• Manage DOT compliance and various systems/programs• Manage workman's comp claims and GL accident reports
Requirements
• Highly organized with a detail-oriented mindset• Preferred industry experience in construction/trucking• Effective communication skills• Positive, friendly, and professional attitude• Ability to stay calm and be flexible• Willingness to take on additional tasks and responsibilities• Excellent time management and prioritization skills• Able to summarize actions and communicate information• Able to work independently and meet deadlines• Availability for overtime hours may be required• Periodic participation in company events and meetings
