As a trusted partner the role of the HRBP is to support the business to develop an inclusive, effective, highly motivated and high performing workforce.
This role will support the operational business and work closely with the Senior Operations Leadership Team and operational managers to drive improvements in colleague engagement, manager capability, improve people metrics and deliver HR projects which support the overall business and people objectives.
As a business with multiple contracts the role will be a key support for bidding, TUPE and contract mobilisation as well as managing manpower planning and subsequent consultation discussions.
The role reports into Operational HR but will work closely with centralised MAXIMUS HR functions -Recruitment, T&D, Engagement, Compensation and Benefits and HRBP colleagues in other divisions of Maximus UK.
Working with the Head of HR to implement and develop the HR strategy in key areas, focused on people management and organisational development. Working with senior management to ensure effective people planning, building a workforce with the structure and skills to achieve business objectives Driving key people metrics across areas of responsibility Working closely with operational leads to drive and champion engagement in each division Analyse data from annual engagement survey, drive action plans and develop solutions to themes and areas of improvement Partnering with central HR colleagues to develop effective resourcing, development plans to ensure attraction and retention of high calibre candidates Support the management team in promoting a culture of performance and operational excellence Conduct weekly or bi-weekly meetings with operational senior teams, driving key changes locally by providing pragmatic HR advice and coaching Responsible for identification of key trends in people metrics and data summary and working with Operations to drive action plans to drive improvements Deliver an effective approach to HR matters across the business, working closely with our outsourced HR Advisory service to ensure consistency of advice and effective management of ER cases in a timely manner reducing risk Have a real curiosity and desire to understand the business to formulate plans to ensure the HR function effectively supports the operational objectives, driving improvements in engagement, inclusion, competency, absence and attrition Lead and manage complex ER cases, early conciliation, and tribunal process, where required Accountable for ensuring delivery of annual HR process - performance management moderation, pay review cycle and engagement survey Support new business bidding and TUPE activity through strong project management, where appropriate Lead on key organisational change projects including employee consultation in an organised and effective manner Lead on cross Maximus projects coordinating activity across the whole organisation such as end of year review process Working with key stakeholders to identify talent and develop succession planning Ability to develop business cases where required to improve business performance Deputise for the Head of HR as and when required, including attending monthly and weekly leadership meetings Share best practice and learnings with internal stakeholders to enhance HR knowledge across the business Provide feedback and direction on organisational policies, programs, and initiatives in support of business objectives and mitigation of company exposure Provide support to Corporate Operational and HR leadership teams on new initiatives and special projects, driving success locally. Qualifications and Experience CIPD qualified level 5 or above Ability to act at an operational and strategic thinker level Operated at a similar level in a multisite business for a minimum of two years Excellent working knowledge of employment legislation Proven experience of working within a changing environment; driving new behaviours & cultural change Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and HR Systems Demonstrable experience of supporting HR projects and business partnering senior teams in a fast-paced environment Experience using data to influence and drive change Prior experience of creating monthly HR metric reports Exposure to a contract environment, supporting bids, previous experience managing large scale TUPE transfers and contract mobilisation Experience of both commercial environments and working with partners in NHS/ public sector Experience of working operationally is advantageous. Individual Competencies Ability to build strong relationships whilst working remotely, with strong stakeholder relationships Ability to travel, car owner Understand and ability to maintain confidentiality Excellent interpersonal skills Good spoken and written communication skills Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to be successful in changing environment Ability to influence and negotiate with managers at all levels Commercially aware Self-motivated, ability to work pro-actively across multiple business functions, managing workload effectively Strong multi-tasker, time manager and planner who is able to work well autonomously and as part of a team Strong analytical skill - ability to interpret and present data to drive improvements across key metrics and objectives.
