The Senior Manager, Redemption Pricing and Reimbursement Strategy, will utilize fiscal acumen to contribute to redemption and reimbursement strategies as well as identify and implement improvements to existing business processes.
Reporting to the Director, Redemption Products and Dynamic Pricing, this role manages pricing strategy and economics of the $2.5B redemption business as it continues to grow beyond the guestroom. This Senior Manager, under the direction of the Director of Redemption Pricing and Reimbursement Strategy, will run the analysis of existing award products in terms of pricing and reimbursement strategy, while also project managing the development of new award products to give members attractive ways to use their points at lower costs to the program. Specifically related to redemptions on guestrooms, the Senior Manager will use revenue management strategy to collaborate with the Operations Research team to make continued adjustments to the underlying algorithm to accommodate shifting market conditions at over 8000+ hotels globally while continuing to maintain the financial viability of the loyalty program.
The overall Loyalty Program and Operations team consolidates holistic responsibility for managing program, property, and member performance within Loyalty, maintaining strong connections to partner teams. Within this organization, the Liability Award and Reimbursement Strategy team manages existing redemption award products including redemption pricing, reimbursement strategy, redemption award products (Cash and Points, PointSavers, and upgrade awards) and develops new products, such as promotional pricing, to give members attractive ways to use their points at lower cost to the program. The Liability Award and Reimbursement Strategy team works closely with other partner teams including Reimbursement and Compliance, Finance, Loyalty Operations, and Revenue Management. The Senior Manager is primarily responsible for managing and evolving existing award processes, including new hotel setup, owner escalations and analysis, and inventory controls. This work combines analytical financial modeling, systems setup, process management, and direct engagement with Continent teams to socialize program decisions. He or she will also work closely with Finance counterparts managing complementary reimbursement processes to align analysis and communications. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience Required 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration or quantitative discipline and 4+ years of relevant professional experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance OR 6+ years of relevant professional experience in loyalty, finance, revenue management, customer analytics or related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and pattern of exceptional performance. Expertise in Excel, including independently structuring and maintaining analysis gathered from diverse data sets Experience managing processes across diverse stakeholder set. Experience gathering data across multiple sources with SQL, manipulating large data sets in SAS, R, or Python, and visualizing outputs in Tableau Loyalty, Revenue Management, or Finance experience CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Lead and evolve award management processes Analyze financial impacts and manage processes for redemption pricing setup. Perform analysis to quantify customer and financial impacts of proposed award changes. Scope and manage systems implementation requirements with IT, Revenue Management Systems, and Digital. Develop presentations for stakeholders summarizing analytical and project results. Maintain regular communications with Revenue Management and Continent teams to socialize and improve usage of existing and new products. Understand and meet the needs of key stakeholders. Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work. Determine priorities, schedules, plans and necessary resources to ensure completion of any projects on schedule. Collaborate with internal partners and stakeholders to support business/initiative strategies. Communicate concepts in a clear and persuasive manner that is easy to understand. Generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc. Demonstrate an understanding of business priorities.
