Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Director of Rooms will lead the Front Office, Concierge, Bell Services, Housekeeping, Laundry, Guest Services departments. Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Oversee the relationship with the 3rd party parking management team to ensure adherence to Fairmont standards and appropriate staffing is in place. This is a hands-on role that provides strategic leadership and functional guidance to operational leaders and partners The DOR works closely with other executive committee members and department heads to support guest service and colleague engagement throughout the hotel while at the same time maximizing overall hotel performance Contributing Member of the Hotel Executive Committee, demonstrates a commitment to Leadership, Guest Service excellence and our Brand Promise You will craft a guest journey tailored to meet the evolving needs of guests Embracing the core values of the Fairmont brand, you will integrate strategic pillars into every touchpoint, ensuring alignment with brand's service philosophy and service standards in day-to-day operations Your focus will be on maintaining service signatures, incorporating brand service behaviors into floor operations, and fostering smooth communication between the Front of House and Housekeeping departments The objective is to guarantee that rooms are meticulously prepared according to guests' recognized preferences As the orchestrator of arrival and departure experiences, you will collaborate with the Director of Food & Beverage to develop seasonally changing tastes Meet and greet protocols will be established, and during peak hours, you will personally be present in the lobby Monitoring housekeeping and turndown services, you will designate a cleanliness champion to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in guestrooms and public areas Support and guide the principles of Global Leadership program Provide coaching and mentoring to junior leaders and colleagues Establish and monitor effective goals and measurements for the Division through the utilization our goals and objective tools Pro-actively engage in recruitment, onboarding and training of Leaders and Colleagues Oversee Employee Engagement growth in all rooms departments and participate in executive team strategies Ensure brand and service standards are in place, maintained, audited, and celebrated (LQA, etc) Ensure that Guest and Colleague concerns are resolved satisfactory in a professional and timely manner Create an environment that allows colleagues to exceed guest expectations and provide a path for career development with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts Actively participate all Rooms related renovation and public area projects Oversee Rooms operating capital spend Work with Director of Engineering to review & prioritize outstanding work orders for guest rooms, public areas and guest fleet Actively participate on the hotel Revenue Management Team Maximize revenues and effectively ensure cost control Utilize labor management tools and tactics to ensure the right amount of people are in the right place at the right time for the right job Responsible for Crisis management plans for the division and is an active member of the hotel crisis management team Development of annual operations & capital budgets; expenses, staffing levels and productivity Involved in the development and execution of the hotel strategic plan Effective and timely interaction with all Hotel departments including participation and representation in hotel wide meetings /committees as required Execute Health & Safety mandate throughout division including WC policies and practices Ensure representation of division on various hotel committees (DEI, Heartist, Sustainability, Health & Safety) Ensure all ESG initiatives are adhered to, and new and innovative environmental opportunities are implemented! Proactively look for ways to maintain and enhance AccorHotels' DEI philosophy and values throughout the rooms division Maintain excellent relationships with business partners Ensure "clean and sparkling hotel" program is fully active in the rooms division Lead the performance review process of the division Review industry trends for new and innovative product and service opportunities Carry out any other tasks as assigned Qualifications
Previous Rooms Division leadership experience in luxury hotel required Comprehensive knowledge of Front Office and Housekeeping operations, policies, and procedures Proven ability to effectively lead, motivate, coach, and develop your team Strong guest service orientation and training skills background Self-motivated, with the ability to make effective decisions Ability to maintain high service levels under pressure Ability to consistently stand and walk through out shift Additional Information Our commitment to Diversity & Inclusion:
