Housing Accounting Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE : Housing Accounting Specialist DEPARTMENT : Housing
CLASSIFICATION : Non-Exempt
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information Identify areas for improvement and implement improvements to processes Prepares or verifies and encodes requisitions, invoices, complex journal entries or other transaction documents for accuracy, completeness and compliance Initiate requisitions for procurement and expedition of materials and equipment for jobs Provide oversight of rental payments, home assignee payments, and deduction agreements Provide oversight of accounts payable and accounts receivable Manage electronic accounting software and applications Ensure compliance to project budgets and provide analysis of deviations Maintain subcontractor and supplier insurance policies Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers Assist in settling invoice or contract disputes Assist with daily operations of Housing Office Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS :
A.in Business/Accounting and at least three (3) years of experience purchasing in the construction business Bachelor Degree preferred Must be knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, Internet and email Ability to learn company created software for managing projects Excellent communication skills, negotiation skills, problem solving abilities, computer skills, and time management skills Strong customer serve skills Attention to detail, organizational skills, multi-tasking. Basic understanding of team building and teamwork. Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable SUPERVISION :
Supervised by the Housing Director SALARY LEVEL :
