Job Summary: The duties and responsibilities of the Housekeeper include performing day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department.
Job Qualifications: Education: 10th Grade
Licensure:
Experience: Six months housekeeping experience preferred
Skills: Basic Computer
Transportation: Ability to ensure timely arrival and stable transportation.
Exemption Status: Non-exempt

Environmental and Working Conditions: The Housekeeper works primarily in a healthcare community environment and must be able to move throughout the buildings and grounds as needed throughout the day. It is possible that the work may include limited exposure to residents and/or patients with AIDS, HIV, and hepatitis B viruses involving Risk Classification Categories 1, 2, and 3**. Environmental conditions will fluctuate. To be qualified for the position, applicants and teammates will have the ability to work in the environment conducive to caring for residents, with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to self or others.

Tasks may involve exposure to blood or body fluids. Tasks do not involve contact with blood or body fluids but could result in performing a Category 1 task. Tasks do not involve any risk of exposure to blood and body fluids. Physical and Mental Effort: The Housekeeper works primarily in a healthcare community environment and must be able to move throughout the buildings and grounds as needed throughout the day. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines.
Essential Functions: Interprets work schedules and assignments, checking daily for changes.
Performs tasks in accordance with daily schedules.
Cleans assigned area, proceeding in timely fashion, and doing a complete job.
Keeps work area free of hazardous conditions, spills, supplies, etc.
Maintains privacy and confidentiality of residents and resident information, as well as teammate and community info.
Communicates with dignity and respect.
Attends in-service education classes and on-the-job training as required.
Performs tasks in accordance with policies and procedures.
Performs other assignments as requested.
Establishes and encourages an atmosphere of optimism, warmth, and interest in residents' activity preferences and needs.
