Our Concept
Situated in the W Hotel in Scottsdale, Donabe is hosting a residency as a Japanese Steakhouse that offers rare and imported Wagyu, as well as a thoughtfully curated Sushi program that emphasizes high-quality seasonal cuisine through a shareable menu. Sushi Chef Lucas Chen brings an innovative take on Japanese cuisine, bringing dishes like mouthwatering Foie Gras & Duck Fried Rice as well as A5 Wagyu served on a hot stone with daikon & shiso chimichurri to the table. The restaurant has a full bar inclusive of worldly wines, Japanese whiskies, and alluring cocktails. The concept is brought to you by Alliance Hospitality Group, the masterminds behind FLINT By Baltaire in Phoenix, Baltaire Steakhouse in Los Angeles, and other notable restaurant concepts.
Donabe is located on the second floor of the W Scottsdale in a restricted area for 21+ guests. The restaurant is open 7 days a week (Sunday through Thursday from 5:30 to 9 PM, and Friday through Saturday from 5:30 to 10 PM). We are also open for Breakfast & Lunch from 6:30am - 2:00pm daily.
What We Expect: Hosts will reports to the Baltaire Management team to oversee all matters of communication between the restaurant, managers, and guests. This includes the direction of OpenTable, holidays, incident solutions and guest requests. Essential and other important responsibilities and duties mayinclude, but are not limited to the below;
Responsibilities: Fun Hospitable Hard-working Warm and friendly demeanor Ability to show warmth, empathy and hospitality through polished phone skills. Ability to be on your feet for an entire shift. Ability to keep up with business needs within the restaurant Team Player Positive attitude Support the service team to ensure guest needs/requirements are met in a timely manner. Detail-oriented Professional appearance and behavior at all times. Walk with graceful efficiency through the dining room to assist with service demands. Work with spreadsheets to handle lost items, lost credit cards, messages for managers, complaints and large party requests. Make calls for the following day's reservations, noting any requests and confirming what we can offer guests. Being knowledgeable of all policies and procedures relevant to guests, and if no answer is available within the set parameters, taking down guest information to call them back. Field event and regular voicemails and complete event inquiries with guests over the phone Be astutely aware of all aspects of OpenTable: how to make reservations, reservation waitlists, etc. Answer department telephone using correct greeting and telephone etiquette. Able to maintain flexible work schedule including overtime as needed. Ideal Candidate Will Have: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a service-oriented or administrative position within a customer-faced environment (ideally fine dining). Must have OpenTable experience. High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate, college degree. Must be detail oriented Must be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment. Punctual, regular and reliable attendance. Strong communication skills and ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to occasionally stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop or kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Able to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
