Responsibilities
• Complete admissions from the ER and answer calls from the inpatient unit• Collaborate with nursing, case management, and physician team• Provide first call coverage for hospitalist service patients• Utilize the organization's electronic health record• Consult with Collaborative Physician as needed• Follow all protocols as established with Collaborative Physician• Maintain current licensure and required continuing education
Requirements
• Ability to appropriately assess patients with a wide range of conditions requiring acute inpatient hospital services• Ability to perform an appropriate Medical History and Physical Examination• Ability to develop a diagnostic and treatment plan in conjunction with the Collaborating Physician• Graduate of accredited school of nursing with BS and MS in nursing• Current licensure by Missouri State Board of Nursing• ACLS preferred – required within 6 months of hire• BLS required• Past experience as Registered Nurse• Preferably has at least two years as an APN• Experience in a high acuity Hospital-based setting (such as Intensive Care, Intermediate Care, or Emergency Department) is preferred
