HIM Chart Analyst Location Weirton, WV : The HIM Chart Analyst is responsible for reviewing the medical record for completeness, timeliness, and accuracy. This review will identify whether all required documentation is present and that all entries have been authenticated before the record is filed as complete. The HIM Chart Analyst will assign identified deficiencies to the responsible provider(s) for timely completion. The HIM Analyst will perform re-analysis, to ensure that deficiencies were taken off by the assigned provider and that assigned deficiencies are accurate. The HIM Chart Analyst is responsible for answering phone calls and routing to the appropriate personal. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Health Information Technology degree or Associate degree preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology required or successfully pass a medical terminology test given by Director prior to 90-day evaluation. Must be able to pass alphanumeric test with 3000 keystrokes per hour with 5% error rate. Keyboard/data entry skills. Communication skills. Ability to interact personably with customers.
EXPERIENCE
Three (3) years of progressive experience in the Health Information Management field.
Completion of an approved Health Information Management or Health Information Technology program may substitute for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Experience with chart completion and deficiency analysis
