Highway/Transportation Engineer

Key Responsibilities: Execute complex engineering and design tasks, leveraging specialized technical expertise independently. Collaborate with fellow engineers and technical staff to prepare and meticulously review detailed drawings. Develop comprehensive contract specifications, proposals, and construction cost estimates. Exercise professional judgement in autonomous decision-making. Support and provide guidance to less experienced engineers and technical staff in project planning and specifications. Conduct and supervise field activities. Participate in business development initiatives within the firm. Maintain and initiate relationships with key professionals and officials in other organizations and companies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. 3+ years of experience in Roadway/Transportation Engineering. Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain within six (6) months. Ability to obtain a Professional Engineering (PE) License in Michigan within two (2) years. Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil 3D. Experience with MDOT and/or Local Agency Federal Aid projects. Preferred experience in drainage design and MS4 compliance.
