Job summary
The Higher Education in Prison (HEP) Program Manager oversees and coordinates the expansion of academic programs and initiatives for incarcerated individuals.This is a grant-funded position with a focus on program expansion and grant activities.The Program Manager reports directly to the HEP Director and the position is open only to current PSU AAUP academic professionals.
Job seniority: mid-to-senior level
Responsibilities
• Coordinate the expansion of academic programs and initiatives through the HEP at prisons in Wilsonville and Salem.• Manage and oversee grant activities related to program expansion.• Develop pathways for incarcerated individuals in their pursuit of higher education.• Work with diverse stakeholders and communicate effectively.• Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.• Ensure program efficiency and improve service.• Adhere to all policies, including Prohibited Discrimination & Harassment and Professional Standards of Conduct.• Contribute to environmental stewardship and sustainability goals.• Work Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm, with occasional weekends.• Complete required background checks.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.• Minimum of 4 years demonstrated experience in program management.• Eligibility to receive volunteer credentials with the Oregon Department of Corrections.• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.• Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.• Experience with relevant computer applications.• Preferred: Master's degree and 2 years of program management experience.• Preferred: Experience with Project Management software.• Preferred: Understanding of higher education in prison in Oregon.• Preferred: Understanding of law and policy related to higher education in prison in Oregon.
