Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Black Diamond Paving is hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Escondido, CA.
Our Escondido office is looking for a motivated and talented Heavy Equipment Mechanic. The ideal candidate must be skilled in the areas listed below, as well as being honest, confident, and enthusiastic. This position will inspect, service and maintain our range of heavy-duty construction equipment.  As a lead mechanic, you will be responsible for driving to job sites, inspecting engines and equipment, completing service repairs as needed, and providing routine maintenance to the construction fleet. 
To ensure success as a heavy equipment mechanic, you should have proven experience working with heavy machinery, be physically fit, and be able to troubleshoot issues on the job site.  Must understand diesel mechanic work, HD 3axle trucks, Cat Skid Steers, Hamm rollers, hydraulic understanding and repair, small gas engine repair. Able to troubleshoot and repair all equipment, HD trucks, medium duty trucks diesel or gas. Troubleshoot and repair Leeboy paver, Diamond Bilt seal machines, seal tanker. Able to repair brakes, clutch, engines etc. Fabricate metal and weld grind.  Ultimately, a top-notch heavy equipment mechanic can repair and service even the biggest machinery with expert care.

Job Requirements:  High School diploma or GED. Certification as a heavy equipment mechanic. Proven work experience as a diesel and/or heavy equipment mechanic. Understanding of computer testing technologies. Ability to lift heavy machinery. Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.
