The Healthy Lifestyles Coordinator is responsible for creating a welcoming and supportive environment at the YMCA of Pueblo. Responsibilities include: monitoring health and fitness programs, engaging with members to help them in accomplishing their healthy living goals and participating in member retention activities. Responsibilities also include assisting the Membership Experience Director and administrative duties, as assigned.
Supervises Group Exercise, Personal Training, Wellness Coaching including assisting with hiring, developing, coaching, evaluating, managing performance, etc. along with coordinating schedules shifts, classes, wellness orientations and personal training appointments. Assists in the development and management of Chronic Disease Prevention Programs including but not limited to: Diabetes Prevention, Hypertension Monitoring, and the LIVESTRONG® Cancer Survivors Program Helps to establish new program activities and expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Works with the Membership Team on Medicaid/Medicare programs and other third party pay opportunities.  Supports the research, application, and tracking of grants to support healthy living program initiatives Customer Service and Experience: Directs, trains, and supports staff to create a high-quality Y experience. Responds to all member concerns in a timely manner and effectively solves problems that improve the Y experience. Direct Service: Direct service will be required to do a minimum of 6 hrs. per week working on the fitness floor and working as a Manager on Duty, teaching a Group Exercise Class and/or Personal Training.  Inspect equipment regularly and ensure that the fitness area and equipment is cleaned and maintained appropriately in accordance with the Y standards.  Engaging Members/Guests on the Wellness Floor.  Helps to manage Active Older Adults Programming to ensure high quality programming and the continued retention and engagement of members.  Helps to develop and implement innovative, high quality, member-focused programs to serve the needs of the local membership base. Actively share and create best practices throughout the YMCA. Other Responsibilities Provide Support to the Membership Team including assisting with the new member orientation process, ensuring members are connected at point of sale and remain well-engaged during the program. Represents and promotes Healthy Living Programs and Membership in the community and at events. Actively drives internal marketing efforts to promote health and wellness program growth and cross promotion of other program areas as assigned. Work with the Leadership Team to address any member concerns and ensure high quality programs. Provide leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign and volunteer committees as assigned. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with the community. May be required to participate in special events including, but not limited to Corporate Cup, Turkey Trot, Healthy Kids Day and the Escape Run. Attendance and participation in committee and team meetings. Monitor and update all required staff certifications, scheduling and facility needs. Audit programs and staff on a regular basis to ensure high quality standards are met. Review and certify accuracy of department payroll Ensure safety procedures are followed and incident/accident reports are filed promptly. Current CPR certification or within 90 days of hire Must be 18 years or older High School Diploma Group Exercise/Personal Training certification required  Strong character values; communication skills Flexible working schedule including morning, evenings and weekends Proficient in basic computer skills PART-TIME BENEFITS: 12% Employer Funded Retirement Plan (once eligible) Adult membership to the YMCA of Pueblo 50% discount on Association member rate for classes or programs that require a member fee Career development and training opportunities USD $16.00 - USD $18.00 /Hr.
