Job Summary/Basic Function The Department of Health and Human Performance at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#118410) at the rank of lecturer in public health. This is a one-year temporary appointment with a possible annual renewal for up to three years. The start date for the appointment is August 1, 2024.
The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate excellent organizational skills, proficiency in tracking and reporting data over time, and ability to maintain accurate records. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality instruction in public health. Courses may include Survey of Human Diseases (undergraduate), Methods of Communication in Marketing in Health Education (undergraduate), Service Learning (undergraduate), Health Promotion (graduate), Theory in Health Behavior (graduate), Biostatistics (undergraduate), and Health and Wellness (undergraduate).
Required Education A master's in public health or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables Applicants with a terminal degree in a health-related field (PhD, DrPH, or EdD), research or grant experience, certification as a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) or in Public Health (CPH), and those with prior experience in higher education teaching will receive special consideration.
