Internal Job DescriptionClosing Date:May 1, 2024Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for temporary Gypsum OperatorsSchedule will be 2 weeks on-site, 2 weeks off-siteReporting to the Mill Shift SupervisorResponsibilities:Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and proceduresMix dried gypsum with bag plant system, utilizing small equipment such as forklift to move 1500-2000 lb. bags of gypsumPerform general housekeeping/clean-up including sweeping, shoveling and organization of mill area as requestedCommunicate effectively with other operators, colleagues and supervisor about assigned tasks and ensuring carryover and updates of completed tasks throughout the shiftDemonstrate knowledge and understanding of environmental risks and hazards as well as complies with safety policies and procedures (MSHA and Red Dog EMS training) and ensures daily workplace inspections are done in order to accurately identify and correct workplace hazardsEnsure compliance with all established policies and standard operating procedures and advises coworkers and visitors of such policies and procedures as requiredPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalentTeam player with a positive team attitudeGeneral knowledge of small tools and able to work safely with themAble to work day or night shifts as requiredAble to lift 75 lbs. on a regular basisAble to perform labor intensive work for extended periods of time in and out of a confined spaceExternal Job DescriptionAbout TeckSuccessful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a physical assessment, drug screen and a background check.
