Grocery Management Assistant

Job summary
Assist to manage and supervise up to 25 associates in the Grocery Department.May also be assigned responsibility for the HBC/GM Department.Responsible for assisting with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments.

Responsibilities
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Harris Teeter's policies and applicable laws.• Interview and train associates.• Plan, assign, and direct work.• Assist in appraising performance.• Reward and discipline associates.• Address complaints and resolve problems.
Requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age.• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.• Knowledge of HT Internet software, E-mail, Inventory software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.• Ability to write simple correspondence in English.• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization who only speak English.• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement.• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.• Complete Company's training in new hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service network, safety, food safety, and product knowledge.
