A Host, or Greeter, or Seater is responsible for welcoming our guests to a food service environment and ensuring that they are seated and receive attentive service. Their primary duties include welcoming each guest to the venue and accommodating their seating according to preferences and availability while overseeing the current restaurant's seating capacity based off volume of guest flow and table-turns and maintaining a waitlist of patrons during busy meal service, passing out menus and accepting phone calls.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Greeting customers as they walk into the restaurant. Helping guests with reservations and guiding them to their table Giving guests accurate wait time estimates and seating them in the waiting area Providing customers with menus and answering any initial questions they may have. Optimizing seating at different tables to ensure even workload for wait staff, and assisting wait staff as and when needed. Taking care of To-Go and Deliver orders as required. Answering phones and scheduling reservations for large parties Ensuring a fond-farewell and an invite back to all departing patrons. ENVIRONMENT: Indoors/ Outdoors as scheduled per venue location. Walk on carpeted areas, deck areas, hard kitchen floors with occasional slippery or greasy areas. Handling plates and silver ware.
