SUMMARY Reporting to the Director of Grantmaking Operations, the Grants Manager will serve as the primary administrator of Dogwood's grants management systems and work to ensure that all users are able to work effectively within the system. The Grants Manager will work with staff from across the foundation to identify and implement system enhancements, with a focus on working to streamline our processes and improve user experience and design, in alignment with Dogwood's strategies and priorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Grants management
Partner to manage the flow of grants and community investments through the operational lifecycle from concept through closeout, partnering closely with internal and external partners to ensure both positive experience and compliance. Support creation of and adherence to internal timelines related to grantmaking and community investment. Respond to ad hoc reporting requests and run regular efficiency metrics. Provides links between program, finance, compliance, learning and evaluation, community engagement, and other staff so that all activities related to grant and community investment data collection and reporting are smoothly implemented. Data systems management
Serve as system administrator for Dogwood's cloud-based grants and community investment management and supporting systems. Administer and configure Dogwood's grants and community investment management system, including the design, creation, and maintenance of forms, workflows, external portal, internal dashboards, and process documentation. Ensure excellent user experience, including by providing high-quality customer service, responsive technical support, and timely problem resolution. Conduct ongoing needs assessment for Dogwood's grants and community investment data systems. Coordinate grants management systems data interfacing with various platforms. Co-lead data migration projects. System configuration and design
Collaborate with staff to design and implement solutions for capturing and disseminating grants data (e.g., through grants management system forms for proposals and reporting, workflows, dashboards, Word document templates, Excel, and Adhoc report templates). Collaborate with Learning & Evaluation team on the utilization of data reporting across Dogwood. System support and documentation
Maintain best practices in documenting the data management policies and procedures and system configuration, including system reference guides and inventories. Communicate system enhancements and changes with users through email, meetings, and documentation updates. Help to develop, maintain, and assist with internal and external system trainings and training material development. Thought leadership
Identify areas for improvement of the system and make appropriate recommendations for streamlining workflows and processes through knowledge of best practices, industry trends, available products, and enhancements, and by working with and facilitating discussions among staff. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Qualifications are a guiding light and not all-encompassing of what Dogwood considers throughout the selection process. Education/Certification
A Bachelor's Degree in public administration, business administration, social work, computing, or data-related field. Additional work experience may be substituted on a year by year basis in lou of degree. Work Experience
5-7 years of experience in grant management or grant writing processes. 5 years of platform and data managment. Proficency with grants management platforms (ex. Blackbaud, Salesforce). Working knowledge of data visualization software (ex. PowerBI, Tableau). Advanced proficiency with database systems administration; comfort with database design and integration. Math skills required to calculate advanced formulas, spreadsheets, calculations, etc. Technical and analytical knowledge, including database structure management and knowledge of SQL, workflows, and reporting. Windows environment and all components of Microsoft Office suite, including Excel. Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
Demonstrated commitment to partner success and customer service. Outstanding interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills. Strong administrative, organization, time, and workflow management skills, and a familiarity with project management approaches and tools, as well as continuous improvement methodologies and process analysis. Problem solving and analytic capabilities; skilled at analyzing, interpreting, and using data to collaborate, identify best practices and areas for improvement, and drive results. An orientation toward self-starting, proactive anticipation of team needs, and creative problem solving. Flexibility, adaptability, curiosity, integrity. WORKING CONDITIONS This role has the opportunity to be hybrid, with a commitment to three days typically in office. Finalist will commit to living within the region we serve.
