By joining the Division of Water, Water Infrastructure Branch, in the Infrastructure Funding Section as a Grant Specialist in Franklin county, you will have the opportunity to work with utilities and local governments to fund projects to build a sustainable future for water and sewer services for communities throughout the Commonwealth.


This position works as a project manager for the Division of Water for State Revolving Fund (SRF) loan projects. The efficient management of these projects is key to the success of the SRF and maximizing the dollars spent on water infrastructure projects. Also, the position ensures Kentucky's adherence to the SRF rules for eligibility and requirements of the funding program.


Holders of the Grants Administrator position will complete tasks such as: Manage water infrastructure projects funded by the SRF. Work with engineers, local officials and interested stakeholders in successful completion of projects. Determine Eligibility for project expenditures and compliance with program requirements. Review and process payment requests and coordinate within the Water Infrastructure Branch during project construction. Work with Area Development Districts to market and educate communities about the SRF program. Holders of this job will learn the following skills: (optional) How to work with a diverse group of people to complete common goals. How to collect and utilize data to make better municipal planning decisions. How to administer federally funded infrastructure projects. Desired candidates possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position: Good organizational skills Excellent written and oral communication. Knowledge of Geographical Information Systems. General knowledge of commercial construction projects. This position works primarily in an office setting. There are occasions when travel will be necessary to visit project sites and conduct meetings and inspections. The position requires minimal overnight travel.

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.




EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of research or administrative experience.




Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.




Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Research, administrative, or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Travel is required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
