JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the OSP Assistant Director, plans, develops, coordinates and administers a statewide program of grant development and administration for a large state agency or department. Other duties as assigned.JOB DUTIES: 40% - Essential - Delivers technical assistance to faculty and administrators in the development and preparation of proposals that represent and protect the interests of the University. Assists in application assembly and budget preparation. Advises applicants of sponsor procedures and policies required for proposal submissions after reviewing sponsor guidelines. Serves as the Grants Administrator I for the College of Architecture, Arts and Construction (CAAC), the College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) and other colleges as dictated by volume.
35% - Essential - Manages and resolves contractual problems and disputes in complex issues such as intellectual property, publications, conflict of interest, insurance requirements, etc. and creates contractual agreements. Negotiates to finalize legal contract and grant agreements in compliance with University, state and federal regulations. This task has a high degree of autonomy and is complex.
15% - Essential - Establishes effective relationships, and acts as a liaison between funding agencies, institution administrators and researchers. Collaborates with Grants and Contract Administration (post-award), departmental staff and CAAHC/CAH Business Office in the transition of pre-award proposals to award set-up. Complies reporting as needed in these areas.
5% - Essential - Stays abreast of and complies with federal, state, and sponsor guidelines. Attends professional development training as directed. Coordinates and presents workshops and programs to obtain college, faculty, staff and student grants and stipends for facilities and equipment, advanced study, in-service training and professional development.
5% - Essential - Supervise graduate student workers as appropriate MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education - Bachelor's Degree - and business, personnel, grant-in-aid or public administration experience.

No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 50% - Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period

WORK SCHEDULE: Standard Hrs: 37.5
COMPENSATION INFORMATION Expected Salary Range ($ 52,095.00- $ 60,000.00)


Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines .

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations. JOB LOCATION: Clemson, SC
