Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Grants Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting compliance monitoring initiatives by analyzing grant submissions, testing internal controls, and drafting comprehensive reports. Your work will ensure adherence to Federal and State regulations, contributing to the effective management of grant funds and the success of our mission.
Responsibilities:
- Review grant submissions and related budgets to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations.
- Conduct testing of internal controls to verify adherence to established practices.
- Review expense reimbursements to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Prepare detailed recommendations and reports summarizing findings from testing.
- Collaborate with management to implement solutions for addressing deficiencies.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Internal Audit, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience. CPA and/or CIA preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in audits, compliance, or regulatory review.
- Strong understanding of allowable expenditures and internal controls.
- Ability to produce clear written recommendations and work collaboratively with management.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance).
- Experience with Federal educational grants.
- Previous experience conducting external audits.
- Knowledge of various sampling methodologies.
