Responsibilities
• Preparing and reviewing journal entries for grants• Reviewing Board agenda items and Resolutions• Assisting with Grants month-end close process• Analyzing activity and providing information for reports• Performing periodic analysis of department/agency activities• Working with external auditors during audits• Providing customer service to departments/agencies• Assisting with processing receipts and reconciliations• Setting up new grants and budgets• Assisting with compiling sections of the Schedule of Expenditures for Federal Awards
Requirements
• High school diploma or G.E.D. and 6 years of accounting experience• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred• 6 years of experience in accounting and/or auditing• Experience with local government and/or grants preferred• Experience with large complex accounting systems• Experience with ad-hoc reporting and data analysis• Proficiency in Microsoft suite products and other applications• Experience with compiling or auditing financial statements preferred• Experience with external auditors preferred• Strong interpersonal skills and communication• Professional certification (CPA, CPFO, CIA, or CMA) preferred
