Job Summary We are seeking an industrial Incident Investigator to join the This Company Loss Prevention organization (LP), which is the corporate safety organization within This Company. We provide both day-to-day in-field occupational and process safety support to This Company operations, as well as centralized technical support and consulting function. Our field offices are located in Abqaiq, Riyadh, Ras Tanura, Dhahran, Udhailiyah, Jeddah (including Yanbu and Jazan), and Tanajib. Through these offices, LP provides its services to all This Company facilities and departments that are located throughout the Kingdom.
Your primary role as an industrial Incident Investigator (Loss Prevention Engineer) is to help investigate industrial incidents (fires, major leaks, hydrocarbon explosions, etc.), identify proper root causes, and the actions necessary to prevent recurrence. This includes preparing draft and final incident reports, as well as providing long term support to address all recommendations.
Responsibilities: Investigating industrial incidents, particularly those with high consequences, and comprehending the hazards associated with industrial facilities and their corresponding controls. Identifying, preserving, and examining incident evidence using widely accepted forensic science principles. Supporting investigation teams by ensuring the proper understanding and utilization of investigation techniques. Conducting thorough investigations using appropriate investigative tools specific to the incident at hand. Understanding incident causation and the impact of human factors. Developing or meticulously reviewing all draft incident investigation reports and overseeing all stages of review. Identifying recommendations that warrant global dissemination for corporate-wide implementation. Creating lessons learned and safety alerts/bulletins to disseminate actions aimed at preventing recurrence. Educating employees, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely communication of lessons learned. Developing and reviewing corporate safety guidance on incident investigations. Requirements: his role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an Accredited Institution. 10 years of experience investigating high-consequence (major) industrial incidents. A deep understanding of the various tools and techniques utilized in conducting such investigations. Excellent communication skills in English, capable of effectively communicating with peers and management. Ability to produce clear and concise oral and written reports in English.
