Located in Northern California, the team at Joby Aviation is driven by our goal of creating an affordable, all-electric air transportation system. Since 2009, our team has worked steadily to make this dream a reality. We've designed and tested many generations of prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We're looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onwards toward certifying the Joby aircraft with the Federal Aviation Administration, scaling our manufacturing, and preparing to launch commercial service in 2025. Develop and execute global logistics strategies to optimize efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure timely delivery of aerospace components and materials, including whole assembled aircraft  Manage relationships with international freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers, including contract and rate schedule negotiations.  Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including supply chain, manufacturing, material flow, flight test and government operations teams, to plan logistics operations accordingly. Continuously evaluate and improve logistics processes and systems to enhance operational performance and internal/external customer satisfaction. Provide leadership and guidance to junior logistics staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, professionalism and continuous improvement. Prepare domestic and international shipping documentation in compliance with appropriate regulations and company directives. Process international & domestic parcel and freight shipping requests with a focus on project cargo HS Diploma or GED equivalent 10+ years international freight forwarding experience, focusing on exports.  Proven track record of successfully managing complex logistics projects Intimate knowledge of hazmat regulations, oversized/high dollar cargo forwarding strategies and door-to-door shipment coordination.  Strong understanding of international trade regulations, export controls, and customs procedures, commodity classifications particularly as they relate to aerospace products and materials. Must have experience with preparing and reviewing import/export documentation, including carnets and other special provisions.  Recent experience preparing shipments with FedEx, UPS, DHL and other standard courier services.  Proficiency in logistics software and systems, such as ERP, TMS, and WMS platforms, with experience in implementing process improvements. Positive attitude with a customer service mindset. Collaborative work ethic and adaptable to evolving team processes. Strict attention to detail is required. Ability to be forklift certified. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field Aerospace  Physical strength and stamina, enough to lift 60 pounds occasionally Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Career stability and dedication, demonstrated by multiple-year service to previous employers Key Competencies Commitment to high quality standards High energy, initiative, and self-motivation Willing to do hands-on work regularly Planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills Versatility and flexibility to meet changing priorities in a dynamic environment Ability to assess, solve, and analyze root causes of problems Problem solving skills and resourcefulness Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $77,100 - $130,400/yr.   The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
