About the Role
The General Ledger Manager is primarily tasked with overseeing all operations within the General Ledger department, which includes the preparation of financial statements. All responsibilities must align with the policies, practices, and procedures set forth by the department and the property.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance, feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction. Ensure departmental practices are compliant with GAAP, company policies and legal requirements. Responsible for the overall supervision and operation of general ledger and professional development of staff. Manage and guide the accounting team through the month-end close process, including ensuring timeliness of close tasks, while maintaining completeness and accuracy of data. Able to thoroughly review journal entries and reconciliations schedules to ensure they are presentable, matched to work papers and accurate. Produce financial statements and insightful management reports on a monthly basis. Provide recommendations for internal process and control improvements, and developing procedures to maximize accuracy and efficiency across the board Review fixed asset data in financial system. Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department. Requirements
Previous experience in a similar casino resort or Financial Shared Services Center preferred. Proactive approach to problem-solving and process optimization.
