Salary/Position Classification $78,874 Annual, Exempt 40 hours per week Employer: University of North Dakota Job Title: Geoscientist Job Location: 15 N. 23rd Street, Stop 9018, Grand Forks, ND 58202 Job Duties: Responsible for conducting research to advance new technologies and practical solutions to critical energy and environmental challenges while working as part of subsurface characterization team within subsurface research and development group. Specific duties include: (1) developing geophysical models of the subsurface; (2) performing regional and physical characterization; (3) performing petrophysical analyses of geophysical well log data; (4) evaluating geologic core samples; (5) assisting in preparation of technical proposals, reports, and presentations; and (6) interfacing with diverse team of scientists and engineers to assess project uncertainties in oil and gas development and geologic CO2 storage. Requirements: B.S. degree in Geology; demonstrated ability to perform petrophysical analyses of geological well log data; successful completion of field geologic mapping course; experience with Petra, Neuralog, ArcGIS, MATLAB, and Schlumberger's Petrel software; and knowledge of geologic CO2 storage or enhanced oil recovery. Remote work benefit. Some infrequent travel required within the Upper Midwest.
