Geologist Or Hydrogeologist - Senior Level (Hybrid)

Job Description:Summary:Barr is seeking a senior-level geologist or hydrogeologist to help with challenging projects related to environmental site assessments; investigations of soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and vapor; evaluations of groundwater-surface water interactions; aquifer test performance and analysis; evaluation of exposure pathways; development of site conceptual models; and work plan, report preparation, and response action planning.Additional responsibilities will include mentoring junior staff; preparing cost estimates and proposals; writing and managing delivery of technical reports; consulting with regulatory agencies and clients; and participation in business development initiatives and client management. While the position is located in Grand Rapids, periodic travel is required.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, or related engineering degree12 or more years of relevant work experience directly related to the responsibilities aboveFamiliarity with Michigan EGLE regulations and Part 201 guidanceStrong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members, regulators, and clientsStrong technical and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail, accuracy, and completenessA flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needsWillingness to travel and periodically adjust personal schedule to meet project needsL egal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the futur eV alid driver's license and acceptable driving record.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in geology, hydrogeology, or engineering with an emphasis in hydrogeologyProfessional Geologist or Professional Engineer license in at least one jurisdictionExperience or coursework in groundwater fate and transport and familiarity with MODFLOWA hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office.
