Job summary
Mendocino Redwood Company (MRC) is seeking a Geologist to join their Forestry team in Scotia, CA.The successful candidate will provide professional geologic services for all related issues in the management of private timberlands.Primary responsibilities include conducting geologic review and reporting for Timber Harvesting Plans (THP) and watershed-wide mass wasting trend analysis.

Responsibilities
• Provide planning, oversight, and reporting for geologic licensure of THPs and Note 45 THP Geologic Reports• Assist in preparing Watershed Wide Waste Discharge Reports and 1600 permitting• Conduct watershed analysis reviews and report findings• Compose Note 45 THP Geologic Reports and coordinate with Registered Professional Foresters• Document detailed characterizations of failed road segments and provide mitigation plans• Conduct watershed wide mass wasting assessments and interpret harvest-related associations• Develop and maintain a current property-wide landslide inventory database• Assess mass wasting risks associated with adjacent public and private property• Provide engineering geologic input at the planning phase of road decommissioning• Be available as an on-call technical supervisor for mass wasting and sediment delivery issues
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geomorphology, Soil Science, or Watershed Science• 4 years of related experience preferred• Must be a Licensed Professional Geologist or Certified Engineering Geologist in California• Experience in recognizing and interpreting mass wasting geomorphology in a forested environment• Ability to use GPS, directional compass, and topographical maps• Valid California driver license and ability to operate company vehicles• Ability to operate all-terrain vehicles in accordance with company guidelines
