AIR CARGO POWERHOUSE is looking for a General Manager to oversee shipping operations. This high-visibility role contributes to the safety, growth, success, and financial health of the facility, which engages in loading, unloading, sorting and organization of shipments. Cargo travels between trucks, airplanes, and warehouse and must be handled promptly to meet delivery deadlines and flight schedules. Responsibilities:
Manage airport cargo facility with full time and peak season staff.
Provide adequate labor to comply with customer requirements and shipping volume.
Enforce safety protocols and document/investigate accidents, injuries and damages.
Prepare operational data and financial reports for internal and external analysis.
Communicate frequently (via phone, email and in-person) with VIP customers.
Review departmental and client SOPs for improvement as needed.
Engage in interviewing, hiring, training, orientation, and conflict resolution.
Monitor staff performance and conduct reviews, corrective actions and discipline.
Provide mentoring, encouragement and leadership to ensure team members are happy,
self-motivated, and contributing at the highest levels. Requirements: Management experience in logistics / supply chain / transportation /
airfreight / warehousing and distribution / manufacturing.
Command of airport warehouse cargo operations and safety protocols.
Must be able to set direction, obtain buy-in, lead, and course-correct.
Able to staff, distribute work, and engage hands-on to meet deadlines.
Savvy with MS Excel, detailed reports, and data analysis.
Relationship builder with colleagues, clients and vendors of all levels.
