Colton House Hotel is a beautiful 80-room boutique hotel located on South Congress near the heart of the trendy SOCO area. We are looking for an experienced General Manager who understands hospitality and knows how to create an impressive guest service experience with each visit. Our General Manager will direct and coordinate the daily operations of our hotel to ensure efficiency and profitability by growing our work culture where employees are trained in accordance with our Standards of Excellence and are recognized for their contributions.
We seek a diplomatic leader who communicates regularly, holds all employees accountable, anticipates guests' needs, and solicits feedback to make each guest experience meaningful and memorable. Here are some of the responsibilities of this role:
Focus on continuous improvement in the area of guest experience; make guest experience a priority for all team members; evaluate guest and staff feedback and benchmark other hotels to identify best practices and areas where we can make improvements
Hire, train, lead, and develop a team to deliver our core values and message of excellence
Work closely with all department managers and be an integral part of their success and ensure it trickles down to all employees
Work with department managers to oversee and optimize the performance of Front Desk, Housekeeping, Events, Maintenance, Security, Simona's Coffee & Cocktails teams, and third-party operations
Manage and oversee property payroll and expenses
Work directly with hotel ownership to set and achieve budget, expense, and financial goals
Partner with our Revenue Office to develop and implement marketing strategies including sales campaigns, social media presence, brand development and reputation management
Develop and maintain relationships with local vendors to enhance the guest experience
Create a presence in the local business community to build relationships and develop business opportunities
Partner with our Revenue Office to achieve occupancy, ADR, and RevPar goals
Oversee the entire guest experience, from pre-arrival through departure
Curate a guest focused environment that celebrates local culture and diversity
Develop a best-in-class guest review and response process
Coordinate par level and stock of all inventory items
Other duties assigned as-needed.
Job Requirements/Skills/Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years management experience with at least 5 years in hospitality
Proven leadership skills and staff development experience
Ability to multi-task in a service-focused atmosphere
Proficient computer skills with knowledge of hotel PMS systems and financial software
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Prior experience opening a new property is preferred, but not required
Thorough understanding of the maintenance of our property
Create and maintain building safety
Stay abreast of safety and OSHA requirements
Dedicated to exceeding guest expectations each day by continuously developing our team so employees have the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools to successfully complete their jobs
