Overview: As a General Accounting Associate, you'll play a critical role in managing the hotel's financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and monthly financial reporting.

CANDIDATE PROFILE Education: Bachelor's degree, preferably specializing in Accounting, Business Administration and or equivalent experience is required.
Experience: Must have at least four (3) or more years of strong accounting experience. Previous experience in a Hospitality environment preferred, or other, related/equivalent field may be considered.
Key Responsibilities: Participates in the month end process ensuring all expenses are realized in the correct periods. This includes the processing of month end journal entries. Oversees the AP process, ensuring all recurring invoices are tracked received and entered in the applicable frequency. Establishes and maintains vendor relations. Oversees and actions all financial reporting, including but not limited to daily revenue, advanced deposits, aging, and financial transaction activities. Reviews, manages, and actions financial transactions completed within each property management system. Maintains credit, AR, and billing controls by adhering to aka policies and procedures for collections and billing. Assists in solving guest billing concerns, billing errors, credit card payment disputes in a timely manner. Manages chargebacks and unverified refunds in a timely manner. Assist with payroll processing and expense tracking Maintain confidentiality and adhere to accounting principles and procedures Additional tasks as assigned by Manager. Qualifications: JOB QUALIFICATIONS In addition to performance of key responsibilities and supportive functions, this position may be required to possess a combination of the following skills and experiences:
Strong organizational and analytical skills, along with demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment. Demonstrated ability to work with maximum efficiency, accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work cohesively as part of a team. Ability to exercise sound logic and judgment in evaluating situations and utilizing appropriate resources. Must be self-directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing. A second language is desirable. Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of performance. Be proactive and possess a sense of urgency. Must have experience in all Microsoft Office and industry relevant accounting systems. Experience with OPERA Property Management System is preferred.
