Gas Utility Mechanic

WEC Business Services LLCWPS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Gas Utility Mechanic 5 or higher in our Oshkosh, Wisconsin location.Job SummaryA Gas Utility Mechanic 5 or higher at WPS learns and becomes proficient in some of the duties associated with the maintenance and installation of gas mains, services, and associated components. This position works to understand the importance of good communication with customers, contractors and others. A Gas Utility Mechanic 5 position is generally a helper position and assists in areas where sufficient knowledge and training are present. Job ResponsibilitiesLearn selected duties associated with the maintenance of gas mains, gas services, and related componentsLearn and follow safety proceduresLearn construction standards and operating proceduresLearn the proper completion of forms and records as requiredCommunicate with customers, contractors and governmental units and others as requiredParticipate in training programs to advance knowledge and skill levelAttend company sponsored classesParticipate in on the job trainingFacilitate customer satisfaction and integrity of system by assisting in the response to various inquiries and complaintsMinimum Education RequiredHigh School Diploma, HSED, or GEDMinimum Experience RequiredValid driver's license.Must have a minimum of one year of natural gas distribution and/or natural gas construction experience. In lieu of the experience, an individual must possess a Gas Utility Construction and Service Technical Diploma or equivalent Technical Diploma.Must have a valid CDL or be able to obtain a CDL within 3 months of accepting the position.
