Full Time Data Entry Clerk Location Fort Dodge, IA : Community and Family Resources is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and flexible person to support the agency's Continuous Quality Improvement processes. This role helps ensure the agency's programs and departments are consistently delivering high quality services that improve the lives of individuals and families in our community. The Data Entry Clerk will be the point of contact for IBHRS reporting issues including but not limited to managing questions that pop up in regard to IBHRS fix-it reports, unsealing forms for clinicians to fix, linking services to the proper care status, fixing errors on the IBHRS error tool and addressing IBHRS import error issues with both the state and our Electronic Health Record provider. Because of the nature of the information with which the employee will be working, this position does require a high degree of confidentiality. Clearly understanding the agency mission, goals, and direction as set by the Board of Directors is essential. Developing a clear understanding of the agency philosophy and the directions of the individual's supervisor and supporting their direction is required. The employee must function well in a fast-paced environment where critical management decisions are made on an ongoing basis and be able to interact in this sometimes intense work environment in a courteous and professional manner with tact and poise. Hours: Full Time Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm typically.
Essential duties and responsibilities of the position: Work with program staff to address errors Link services to the appropriate care status Address IBHRS import error issues with both the state and EHR Locate and correct data entry errors, or report them to supervisors. Select materials needed to complete work assignments. Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance Other program related duties as assigned. Education and Experience - Minimum of a two-year degree or demonstrated equivalent experience is required. Required skills and abilities - Ability to communicate effectively, regularly, and fluently in English. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Understand that the most important aspect of communication is the act of listening and actively works to improve those skills. Speaks with confidence using clear, concise sentences and is easily understood. Produces well thought-out, professional correspondence to project a positive image of the business. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weakness of potential solutions. Ability to complete written reports forms in a timely and accurate manner as needed. Ability to effectively convey information to others, including individuals, small, and large groups. Ability to read and comprehend complex written and verbal instructions. Ability to make decisions by weighing relative costs and benefits to potential actions and choosing most appropriate. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Knowledge of HIPAA and 42CFR Part 2 and how they apply to the agency. Knowledge of IDPH, DHS, and CARF accreditation/licensure standards as they apply to the position. A high level of computer skills is required. Must be able to use the following programs with proficiency: Computer skills - web-based time-keeping systems, internet software, Microsoft Suite Electronic Health Records Physical demands - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The staff member is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The staff member is occasionally required to stand and walk. The staff member may occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The staff member must have the ability to move within and between agency buildings, standing, sitting, lifting and manipulating objects typically found in this work environment. The staff member may be required to work at any agency building as needed/directed and be responsible for her/his own transportation. The ability to comply with the agency's infection control policies/procedures including the Exposure Control plan which reflects OSHA Blood borne pathogens standard to ensure a safe work environment for self and others. The staff member may be required to work extended periods of time at a video display terminal (VDT). The staff member must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.
