The Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost at the University of Virginia seek s applications for a Front-End Web Developer to join the Executive Vice President and Provost's Web Team . The web developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, project managers and web developers, to establish innovative high quality website development and deployment.
The successful candidate will be expected to :
Ensure that all websites meet the requirements, policies, and standards of the
University, specifically UVA brand guidelines and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA
level).
C reate functional, visually appealing, and interactive website designs.
Assist with the development and deployment of new or redesigned websites.
Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies, software development methodologies,
and industry trends.
Provide training to stakeholders to ensure they understand the importance of web
usability and accessibility.
Utilize reporting applications to maintain and improve site quality metrics .
Support web team with other web-related initiatives and projects.
Qualified candidates must have : Bachelor's degree in Information Technology , Computer Science, or a closely related field with at least three years of experience developing front-end websites. An equivalent combination of education or experience may also be considered.
Exceptional communication skills.
Experience working with HTML5, CSS3, and popular content management systems and
applications.
Knowledge of image authoring tools, for cropping, resizing, or performing small adjustments to images. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA requirements and a demonstrated understanding of accessibility and usability for people with disabilities.
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
This position is Remote.
The anticipated start date is July 1, 2024 .
Anticipated Hiring Range: $ 65,000 - $75,000 commensurate with education and experience. This is an Exempt level, benefited position . F or more information on benefits , visit UVA b enefits .
