ABOUT THE ORLEANS PARISH DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE (OPDA):

Jason Rogers Williams took office as the Orleans Parish District Attorney on January 11, 2021, and is building a 21st century prosecutors' office with a team of the best and brightest from around the country and a mission of being as smart on crime as the office has historically been tough on crime. New Orleans has led the world in convictions and incarceration for decades, without any corresponding decrease in crime. OPDA is simultaneously increasing safety and delivering justice with a laser focus on serious offense and a belief that every New Orleanian deserves the presumption of innocence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
• Manage OPDA telephone/switchboard operations, including professionally and politely answering all incoming calls and referring them to the appropriate employee or external agency.
• Assist in-person visitors to the office, including operating a sign-in desk and directing them to the appropriate location.
• Continually monitor the office's email inbox and forward messages to appropriate OPDA personnel.
• Record and deliver messages to employees.
• Aid in distributing relevant information agency-wide.
• Aid the Human Resources Department in updating the staff information directory as needed.
• Assist with other clerical tasks as directed by the District Attorney, Chief of Staff, and Human Resources Director.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• High school diploma, GED equivalent, or higher education.
• Knowledge of computers, modem office equipment, and office management systems and procedures.
• Must be proficient in typing.
• Must have the ability to multi-task and pay close attention to details.
• Must possess good interpersonal skills and good written and verbal communication skills.
• Passionate about promoting and addressing the needs of New Orleanians.
• Dependability in both attendance and work product.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

The salary for this position is $30,000/year.
