JHU's Whiting School of Engineering is seeking a Front Desk Assistant for front desk coverage to greet and direct visitors, maintain shared conference room schedules, triage calls received by the main Dean's Office line, as well as stock office supply room and kitchens.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities Daily mail and package distribution. Filing. Maintaining records. Running errands. Operating basic office machines. Answering phones. Additional support, such as special event assistance, may be required by the Executive Assistant to the Dean and Administrative Specialist. Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-directed and able to work without supervision. Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas. Task oriented. Collaborative. For duties that may include typing, data entry, word processing. Moderate experience. Technical knowledge. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or graduation equivalent. Six months related experience. Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. * JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
