The Foreman coordinates activities concerned with the operation and maintenance of construction equipment and systems. Implements and ensures the implementation of construction procedures, specifications and work schedules. Supervises and coordinates activities of equipment operators engaged in construction projects for either/both public and private construction.
Responsibilities: Supervise on-site teams in accordance with defined schedules and procedures. Set and delegate daily work objectives. Determine and recommend improvements in methods, schedules, and procedures, as needed. Hiring and training of laborers and equipment operators. Confer with supervisory personnel to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, schedules, and complaints. Coordinate activities concerned with the operation of construction equipment Ensure personnel follow all regulatory requirements and maintenance items are addressed by shop and field maintenance. Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites. Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with safety codes, DOT, OSHA, and MSHA, and other regulations. Drive and operate heavy construction equipment, as needed.
