The Excalibur Group is currently seeking a FOIA Paralegal for a contract in Washington, DC. **Will be subject to a background/credit screen prior to employment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide direct support on complex legal issues and research projects Prepare legal discovery, including preparing witness lists and ensuring the agency produces responsive documents Organize and maintain discovery files, notice depositions, prepare deposition materials, exhibit summaries, and materials for experts Coordinate witness schedules with agency's attorneys for pretrial preparation, depositions, and court-appearances. Conduct legal research for FOIA Track FOIA requests that are filed, upload files to the case management database, respond and provide timely responses REQUIREMENTS Education : Paralegal Certificate 2-5 years of Paralegal experience FOIA processing experience; Knowledge of FOIA statues, are able to review documents, redact documents, and have good writing skills to respond to FOIA requests Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging  Role also requires hands-on familiarity with eDiscovery applications and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources Preferred : Experience with FOIA Express or other FOIAs document systems HOW TO APPLY:
