For this Floor Manager role we are seeking a hard working individual who values personal and professional growth, collaboration, and maintains a posture of flexibility and resilience. This role will be responsible for managing a team of multidisciplinary staff so it's critical that they establish a clear and consistent communication style while maintaining empathy and understanding for the variables at play in hospitality. JOB DESCRIPTION The Floor Manager is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive dining experience. They need to be able to delegate tasks and think on their feet as they address the needs of staff and patrons. Floor Managers are physically present on the restaurant floor and in the kitchen to monitor the quality of the service and the food. The individual must also ensure the restaurant complies with local health and safety codes for eating establishments.
We expect Floor Managers to train and hold each individual accountable to the knowledge and understanding of the core vision and mission of The Open Door, to ensure each person is able to provide an enjoyable, unique experience for our customers and community, upholding our standard of excellence.
Floor Managers must be able to multitask, solve problems and adapt to the needs of the moment and/or situation. Our Floor Managers must value and champion teamwork, conduct their management and service duties with respectful and productive communication at the forefront and ultimately lead in all company values by example.
The Floor Manager is accountable to administrative duties for the facility, such as ordering inventory and supplies, overseeing nightly close out when/where applicable. Additionally for special events and bookings this role will support the GM directly to ensure staffing plans have been adjusted, internal and customer facing communication has been distributed re: operating hours, ensuring all staff report to event on time and in line with dress code, etc.
The below tasks will fluctuate in ownership based on staffing plans (i.e. wherein Shift Leads are scheduled, Floor Manager moves to tasks that are oversight oriented).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES - Own and manage scheduling across campus, inclusive of special events and event bookings; including communication around scheduling adjustments, Holiday/OOO, close dates, etc.
- Oversee closing of books and tipping ( when acting as closer).
- Managing general upkeep and consistency around campus during shift hours and at closing (i.e. gate checks, lights, locks, etc.)
- Manage font of house hiring and training.
- Own and manage all front of house inventory and ordering inclusive of paper products and office supplies
- Evaluate current systems, tools, processes and determine where changes need to be made. Manage implementation of any operational changes including ongoing refreshers, adjustments/re-training needed.
- Act as the 2nd to GM on event booking days including managing all internal staff, quality of service, food and drinks and ensure that any troubleshooting that needs to happen is communicated efficiently and effectively.
OTHER JOB EXPECTATIONS - Regular reporting cadence to GM on labor costs, floor schedules, hiring, customer satisfaction
- Brining proactive, solutions-oriented thinking to the GM and Partners on any areas for optimization across campus
- Cross-training in Gallery Sales & Service in order to support when needed

Must include a variety of nights and weekends
