RLC, LLC is seeking a Flight Follower at our Broussard, LA location to o perate radio & computer systems to provide flight following services in accordance with company policy and FAA or FCC regulations. The position is full time and the schedule is 7/7.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operate radio/computer systems providing computerized flight following. Utilize telephone as back up for radio communications. Maintain complete familiarity with the company search and rescue plan. Begin radio and telephone search for overdue aircraft and proper responsive action to "May-Day" calls. Notify Operations Supervisor or other responsible personnel of flight delays or mechanical difficulties relayed by pilots. Relay messages between company aircraft and customer's representative. Notify Operations Supervisor and other responsible personnel of aircraft that are overdue at destination or late on a check or position report. Maintain accurate records of weather conditions as reported by pilots and disseminate the reports to other pilots. Accurately interpret weather imagery from display center in the flight following center to advise pilots of approaching severe weather conditions. Record and maintain a list of fuel stations that have been sumped for the day, and disseminate this information to the pilots as needed. Maintain accurate and complete logs and records as required by the Operations Manual, the FAA or the FCC. This may include report to the FCC. Perform daily inspection of the communications systems and radio. Maintain cleanliness of the work area. Education and/or Experience: High School graduate or a one year certificate from college or technical school; three to six months related experience and/or training preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak clearly and concisely on the telephone and radio.
Mathematical Skill: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
