SUMMARY Northline Seafoods is a growing seafood processing company seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Fleet and Sales Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to account for a salmon through its life cycle from catch to sale. During the summer fishing season, you will be responsible for meticulously tracking and managing financial transactions related to fishermen expenses, fish ticket data, reconciling settlements, and ensuring accurate and timely payments to fishermen. Throughout the rest of the year, you will work with our Sales, Inventory and Finance teams in Bellingham, WA. This position must be able to spend June and July working in Bristol Bay, AK. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the overall financial health of our fishing operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES • Play an integral role in the development of our fleet, inventory and sales accounting software. You will be the go-to pro for this system!
• Work closely with the Fish Ticket Clerk to retrieve and upload necessary catch data to various systems.
• Record and document all fishermen account charges.
• Maintain an organized system for fish tick data, tracking catch details, prices and quantities.
• Reconcile fishermen settlements – identify and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate settlements.
• Work closely with our Finance team to communicate fish purchase data necessary for tax filings and other reporting requirements.
• Issue and track fisherman PO's.
• Ensure timely and accurate disbursement of payments to fishermen, keeping detailed records of all transactions.
• Collaborate with finance team to integrate data into the overall accounting system.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with our vendors.
• Work with our Sales and Inventory teams – this may include issuing sales orders, tracking inventory, issuing invoices and tracking accounts receivable.
• Produce accurate reports and analysis for various managers.
• Support additional administrative tasks as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Degree or experience in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Experience in the fishing industry a plus.
• Ability to live and work in remote Alaska for approximately 8 weeks during the summer.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• All-hands-on deck attitude as we are a growing team.
• Willingness to support additional areas of our operations.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds individually. This position works seasonally in remote Alaska with limited amenities.
